30 March - Kites seen on nest

For the past couple of weeks, a squirrel and a nuthatch have been regular visitors to the Kite nest.
Yesterday, however, was the first time a kite was seen in the nest. Today (Friday 30th March) both kites were seen on the nest, with one of them bringing in twigs. This is a good sign!

As well as the kites, a blue tit was seen today, which was helping itself to bits of the nest lining!

Further sightings of the kites indicate their interest in the nest, with one kite seen 'bedding down' the nest on 2nd April. Today (3rd) a brief visit from a kite was witnessed, again with a twig, but the visit was a fleeting one, and the bird flew away less than a minute after arriving.
