27 - 30 April - Nest fills up with 'rubbish'

The red kites never disappoint when it comes to 'decorating' their nests. Today (27th) saw the appearance of what looks to be screwed up bits of paper!

Incubating is taking place, and the male is bringing in food for the female. Usually she takes the food and flies away from the nest to feed.

Check out the video clips of a 'change over' when one kite replaces the other sitting on the eggs.

30 April - The nest is becoming well and truly 'paper bound' now, with even more paper material being brought in. It appears the kites are arranging the paper into the 'cup' of the nest, close to the eggs, to act as a lining.
