27-28 May - Extremely wet weather conditions & strong winds

Sunday 27 May

Unfortunately the weather hasn't been kind, with continuous heavy rain and cool temperatures throughout Sunday and also strong winds throughout the night into Monday, the bank holiday.

With all the signs that an egg could hatch on Saturday, a chick was expected to be seen the following day, however because of the heavy rain, the female never left the nest. Whether there was one egg and one chick underneath her was hard to tell.

During a short time during the day, the situation was confirmed. The female stood up (see video clip called "Very cold and wet weather conditions") exposing two eggs. Neither of them had hatched.

Monday 28 May

Monday brought the same wet and cold weather as Sunday, as well as additional strong winds throughout the night of Sunday/Monday.

Unfortunately at the moment, the camera is temporarily out of action, due to the bad weather conditions.
