About redkites.net

The website grew from an idea in 2006 as a result of information on the internet about the kites in the Chilterns being fragmented. Additionally, the information found was quite often out of date.

There was no website wholly dedicated to the red kites in the Chilterns. To counteract this, and as a result of becoming quite frustrated at having to endlessly trawl the internet, Helen Olive, who is based in South Oxfordshire - and was previously involved in the monitoring of the kites with the Southern England Kite Group - decided to set up redkites.net for those who wanted to find red kite information all in one place.

The primary aim of the website is to raise public awareness of the red kites in the Chilterns, as well as enabling people to find out all they want to know about the red kites in the Chilterns on one user-friendly website.

The website continues to expand, with additional information being added.

The website is funded entirely by Helen Olive, who also attends local events, answering questions about the kites as well as trying to sell the odd photo or two which goes some (ok, a little!) way in helping to fund the website and other red kite work.

If you would like the redkites.net stand to attend your local event, please contact Helen through the 'Contact details' page.
